Cozy & Cute Valentine’s Day Journal Spread Ideas

Cozy & Cute Valentine’s Day Journal Spread Ideas

Hey friends! If you’re in the mood to set up something cute and a little extra special for February, this post is for you. Here’s a full breakdown of all the spreads and layout tips from my latest YouTube video, as well as inspo from how our community used all of our Valentine’s sticker collections in their own beautiful spreads!

🖊️ Tools Used

For these spreads, I used:

  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens:
    452 dark blue
    451 light blue
    847 red
    N79 warm grayish-brown
    N95 light gray
  • Tombow Mono Drawing Pens: #1, #3, #5
  • Dot grid guide sheet
  • Pencil, ruler, eraser, craft knife, scissors, tweezers and glue tape
💌 Love Notes for February Dutch Door Spread

The first layout is a Dutch door spread for 14 little love notes - to yourself, someone special, or as a daily gratitude prompt. Cut a Dutch door on the right-hand page, divide it into four boxes, then mirror that grid on the left page. You’ll create 16 letter-style boxes across three pages, decorate two with otter Polaroids or larger stickers, and use the remaining 14 as mini spaces to write one note for each day around Valentine’s Day.

Ways to use this spread:

  • 14 love notes to yourself (self-kindness, affirmations, things you’re proud of).
  • 14 prompts for your partner to fill out and surprise you with.
  • 14 small treats, dates, or cozy activities you plan for yourself throughout February.
🎵 Valentine’s Playlist Spread

The second layout is a playlist-style spread where each box becomes its own little now playing card. I divided both pages into a 3×3 grid, left space at the top for a header, then marked out boxes that are 10 dots tall. The top of each box is the “album cover,” made by trimming deco stickers and for some boxes otter stickers over a simple checkered background. At the bottom, I drew a progress bar with tiny play, next, heart, etc icons so each box looks like its own mini music player. I then filled the spread with songs from my own playlist that felt especially cozy and romantic for February.

Ways to use this spread:

  • A “songs that remind me of you” playlist for a partner or friend.
  • A comfort playlist for solo journaling nights.
  • A “love in all forms” mix featuring songs about friendship, family, and self-love.

💕 Your Valentine’s Day Spreads That Inspired Us!

I didn’t just look to our Valentine’s collections for inspiration this year - your creativity definitely inspired me too! The six Valentine’s Day themed spreads below are some of the ones that really caught our eye, each with its own unique spin on journaling, and we hope they spark some new ideas for your own pages too.

Jordanna Haglund - Jordanna’s weekly spread is bursting with Valentine cheer, from the bold heart banner spelling out “February” to the cozy otter couple cuddled up at the bottom of the page. We love how she used My Otter Half stickers, speech bubbles, and washi-style borders to frame each day, making the week feel like its own little love story.

Aliyah Fiorillo - Aliyah’s Hobonichi Weeks spread shows just how perfectly the Lovely Gnomes collection fits this slim planner format, with each column and box neatly framed in soft pinks and cozy gnomes. We especially love the little gnome village marching across the bottom of the right page, tying together weekly habit tracking, affirmations, and a to‑do list into one weekly view.

Jillian Rohde - Jillian turned her Hobonichi Weeks into a super functional layout using the I Love You collection, with dinners, habits, and to‑dos all mapped out in one glance. The heart‑filled washi and tiny character boxes make this spread feel like a celebration while still keeping the whole family’s plans organized.

Katie Beachey - Katie’s spread is such a sweet mix of practical and playful, with her school schedule and to‑dos nestled between a trail of otters and happy mail. The soft blue headers, dotted walking paths, and otter‑ly adorable stickers make the whole week feel like a cozy valentine postcard in journal form.

Tiffany Harkey - Tiffany’s February cover page goes full-on Monkey Love, with two giant hand-drawn monkeys and their tails forming the cutest heart right across the center spread. The soft yellow stripes, banana stickers, and tiny monkey stickers scattered around the bold “February” title make this feel like a playful start to the month.

Kenda Herrick - Kenda’s heart-shaped Dutch door spread feels like opening a handmade Valentine. The mix of My Otter Half, Lovely Gnomes, and I Love You stickers along the puffy pink border turns the whole layout into a tiny neighborhood of love-themed characters.
