What's Cookin' ? Journal Spreads for November
Hey friends! Grab your apron, because November is all about cooking. Our Let's Cook theme is full of chef mice, bubbling pots, and fresh veggies, and our spread artist Sabitha turned it into a cozy little kitchen with a scene-style cover, a Sunday-start monthly, a tracker and goals spread, and a weekly that looks like grocery receipts taped to the wall. Below, I'm breaking down how each one comes together so you can cook up your own, plus some delicious spreads from our community!
This post covers four of Sabitha's spreads, but the video has even more, including three extra weekly layouts to carry you through the rest of the month. Watch the full tutorial on our YouTube channel for every step and sticker placement, with chapters so you can jump straight to the spread you want to make. 👇

🍳 Kitchen Scene Cover Page
This cover is Sabitha's own take on the Let's Cook journaling card: a cozy kitchen scene rebuilt from scratch so she could play with her favourite mice stickers. She started with a border one space in from the edge to keep all her colouring inside the lines, then drew two lines near the bottom for the countertop and the wall below it. Up top, a wooden sign hangs down on two posts to hold the November title, which is five spaces tall so the title sticker fits just right.
Before adding any shelves, she picked her two chef mice so she'd know how much room was left. The winking mouse is a perfect cover star, and she trimmed the second one right where his pot of stew sits, so it looks like the stew is resting on the counter while he reaches over to hold it. Two shelves follow, one lower for pots and pans and one higher for jars and flour. Then the whole background gets coloured in 090 Light Yellow, with 942 on the sign, shelves, and countertop, and everything is outlined with a MONO #3. Add a few veggies on the counter and you've got a sweet, simple cover that's easy to make your own.

🗓️ Monthly Spread + To-Do List
This month, Sabitha finally found a home for the Let's Cook washi tape in a monthly. The kitchen scenery tape runs across the top, a thinner glitter tape runs along the bottom edge to edge, and the November title from the journal pack sits on the right. She left room above the grid for the cute cooking pot day-of-week stickers, which are usually tricky to fit because of their shape.
Here's the fun twist: Sabitha usually starts her week on Monday, but she switched to a Sunday start for all of November. That way the 29th and 30th get their own boxes, leaving an open stretch at the bottom of the page for a row of mice cooking along a countertop. Every row of the grid gets a 942 highlight across the top, and the to-do column on the right is outlined in 090 with alternate lines highlighted in N95. Kitchen tools hang from the grid, and butter, a mixing bowl, and veggies frame the list, but she stopped there so the page doesn't get too cluttered. Prefer a Monday start? Keep the shared box and use the spare space for notes instead.

🧁 Trackers + Goals
The wooden sign from the cover comes back here, this time hanging over both pages to hold the titles. Sabitha spelled "Tracker" and "Goals" with the ransom-note letter stickers, aligning each word by counting the spaces on the page. Along the bottom, two of the transparent countertop strips line up end to end so the cooking mice look like one long, seamless scene, a detail she says makes the whole spread cute single-handedly.
On the left, six habit tracker stickers sit in two neat columns. On the right is a big goals board with curved corners and a second border inside, so it looks like a whiteboard hung on the kitchen wall: yellow on the outside, with N95 lines to write on. Little dot stickers let you tick off each goal as you finish it, and you can rename the board for a monthly overview, progress notes, or anything else. She skipped a background colour here so the focus stays on the sections, then scattered hearts, dots, and oven mitts around like confetti.

🧾 Grocery Receipt Weekly
How can we cook without buying groceries? So of course this weekly looks like grocery receipts taped to the kitchen wall! Sabitha divided the spread into eight sections, half and half both ways, leaving a gap between each one. Seven sections hold Sunday through Saturday, and the eighth holds the November title and a notes box. The bottom of each receipt gets a jagged torn edge, outlined with a MONO #1 in broken, unconnected lines, and little white gaps make it look even more like torn-off paper.
Each receipt is held up by either a strip of Let's Cook washi tape, hand-torn so it looks stuck to the wall, or one of the printed tape-strip stickers from the kit. The days and dates are added with the oven mitt number stickers, alternate lines are highlighted in N95, and a soft shadow is added to each torn edge. One little chef mouse on every receipt finishes it off. It doesn't have to be perfect, and the messier the tear, the more realistic it looks.

🎬 Three More Weeklies in the Video
One weekly is never enough for a whole month in the kitchen! In the full tutorial, Sabitha sets up three more weekly spreads, each with its own layout, so you can pick your favourite or rotate through them all November long.
▶️ Spread 4 at 37:29: a classic two-row weekly with a to-do box and a chef mouse peeking into every day
▶️ Spread 5 at 45:40: a compact weekly with to-do, reminder, and "this week" sections plus a mini kitchen scene
▶️ Spread 6 at 53:47: a nine-day layout to finish the month, with a chef mouse and a tall notes section framed by utensils

🥄 Your Let's Cook Spreads That Inspired Us!
Our Chubgirl Planner Group has been cooking up a storm with this theme. Here are a few spreads from the community that had us hungry for more.
Valerie G.
Valerie turned the cover into a giant chef's hat, drawn with a dashed outline and topped with the November title sticker, with "Let's Cook" lettered right on the band. Below it, a hand-drawn spatula and wooden ladle, coloured in and crossed at the handles, frame a smiling pot sticker like a little kitchen crest. A wood-grain counter along the bottom and a chef mouse holding a pot of stew complete the scene.
Lia R.
Lia filled the background of this monthly with yellow brushstroke dashes that look just like a tiled kitchen wall, so the whole spread feels like one big kitchen. The left page is a full scene with jar-lined shelves, three chef mice at the counter, and a row of mice along a blue countertop at the bottom. On the right, the Sunday-start calendar is packed with icon stickers for the month's plans and holidays, from Thanksgiving to laundry day, which makes it as functional as it is cute.
Maria M.
Maria's "Week Two" spread opens with a kitchen scene banner of chef mice across the top. Each day's box is staggered across the page, with a round mouse sticker like "So Yummy" or "Time to Cook" tucked into the space beside it, which gives the layout a fun zigzag rhythm. Yellow writing lines, cooking pot date stickers, a "Thankful For" banner on Saturday, and a soft pastel cloud border along the bottom tie it all together.
