It’s the Halloween month! I have so many costume ideas for this year and I turned some of them into fun stickers to add some spookiness to our journals!
Let’s start off by using a pencil to mark out the monthly grid. I always use a 5x5 box for each day, 7 across and 4 down. Feel free to use any size that works for you! Since October starts on a Saturday and ends on a Monday, let’s add a couple extra boxes at the top and bottom to include all the days. If you want to save space, you can add 2 dates in one box by dividing it in half. But this time the grid leaves enough space for the title at the top and some stickers at the bottom so I skipped it.
Next I’m adding a to-do list on the right. You can substitute this for anything else you like!
Once everything is in place we can go over it with a marker. I’m using a grey marker for this - you can also use other classic Halloween colours like orange, black, red or purple. To add a little dimension to the boxes, I’m adding a shadow on the left and bottom of the boxes with a brush pen.
Next, I’m drawing some simple spider webs on the corners of the page. You can also draw some spooky spiders or vines for extra detail.
You can use the journaling set for the days but I’m just writing it down with a pen here.
To make the to-do list stand out I’m highlighting alternate lines. Instead you can also draw check boxes or dots to make it look filled out.
Finally let’s divide up the boxes for each day on the grid and add the dates.
Next I’m decorating with some stickers and writing down the title using a brush pen.
To finish up let’s add stickers to any empty spots and we’re all done!
